Nurse Practitioner | Surgery - Cardiothoracic Location: Syracuse, NY Employer: Adelphi Locums Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Start Date: ASAP About the Position JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: NP – Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Syracuse, NY • Service Setting: Inpatient (ICU / Step-Down Unit) • Coverage Type: Clinical Only • Coverage Period: Jun 01,2026 - Oct 2,2026 PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Adult • Patient Volume/Census: Up to 10 notes per day; phone coverage for all inpatients • Rounding: Included • Case Mix: Cardiac surgery ICU and step-down patients; critical care / cardiology-focused cases FACILITY INFORMATION • EMR System: Epic • Specialty Backup Available: Supervising physician and critical care physicians • Reason for Coverage: Supplemental COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES • Central line placement • Arterial line placement • Chest tube placement and removal • Wound vac changes JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Active NY License • Board: AANP Certification • Certifications: ACLS • Experience: ICU/critical care experience required (cardiac ICU preferred); no new grads • Other Qualifications: EPIC experience required DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide inpatient care for cardiac surgery ICU and step-down patients • Perform daily rounding and documentation • Manage patient care plans in collaboration with supervising and critical care physicians • Perform bedside procedures as required • Provide phone coverage and coordinate care for all inpatients
